Hi Everyone - I hope you are all doing well.
I just got back from Los Cabos, Mexico and it was INCREDIBLE! I was working on a project with Nobu Hotel there. I am going to write about it on my blog and make some videos this week, so keep an eye out. I just haven’t had the chance yet to put it all together.
In terms of hotels in Mexico - Nobu is the least Mexican resort I have ever stayed at, but ultimately checked every single 5 star box. If I had to pick a favorite resort in Mexico - this would be it. Or at least tied with Zadun, also in Los Cabos. Don’t get me wrong, I love cultural submersion - but I also don’t want to take away from what this resort has to offer those who are looking for a vacation with insane food.
Even though the resort didn’t have a large focus on the Mexican culture - you can easily leave the resort for dining and activities. However - I do want to say that where the resort excelled - was in the food. It’s very rare to visit a resort (in my opinion) and have every single dish be spectacular.
If you need a few days or even a weeks vacation - I can promise you with every fiber of my being, you will not be disappointed here. The resort is very tranquil and like I said - the food was unbelievable. Oh, and I didn’t even have a chance to eat at Nobu the restaurant, so I think that speaks volumes to the quality here.
Travel News:
I leave for Alaska late next week. I am so pumped. If you have been around for some time, you know how passionate I am about visiting. One of my favorite states in all of the USA.
I am going to Glacier Bay this time - I did not go last year. I am really excited to visit and share it with you all.
Something I have kept slightly quiet about (unless you have seen my Instagram stories from time to time) is that I am heading to St Barth’s later next month for 10 days. For the last few years I have been trying to visit - just could never make it happen with my schedule. It is sorted, it has been completely booked for a couple months and I planned my itinerary to cover a lot because I see your messages and emails online requesting information and I want to be able to be that resource for you.
Hopefully over the 10 days that I am there, I can cover as much ground as possible to provide that information that some of you are after. :)
Travel Deals:
I have a few amazing deals for you all this week! I have no clue when they will end - so if you want them, grab them!
Maldives - LUXURY - 5 nights in an overwater villa, all-inclusive food and drinks, transfers from the airport when you arrive in the Maldives, 45 minute massage, a bucket list excursion is included, and so much more. Here are my tips for visiting the Maldives so you know what to expect and pick good dates to go.
Four Seasons Bora Bora - this deal is never around, so grab it while you can. Includes 5 nights in an overwater bungalow, round trip flights from LAX, interisland flights, boat transfer to resort, daily breakfast, plus all your taxes.
A very common question I get is “Bora Bora or the Maldives?” I’ve done both many times - so I think this article will help you decide, as they are very similar.
Europe flights under $500! - this deal is ending soon and its mostly for spring dates next year. However, with as wild as prices have been for flights the last year+, if you already know you are planning to go to Europe, I would snag them up now.
Travel credit cards I use for free travel:
This question comes up a lot on social media, and I hope those who are watching there can see this here.
The two credit cards I use the most for free (or almost free) travel are these:
My everyday card - currently has a 60,000 sign on bonus (after initial spend) which is the equivalent to $900 in FREE travel in their portal. OR you can transfer the points to one of their partners.
My hotel card - I have the boundless card and currently they are offering 3 free hotel nights! This is the card I used to get my $17K Luxury Maldives hotel stay! There are a lot of perks with this card, but the most important one in my opinion, when you book nights with points, the 5th night is free. So a double bonus. This is a Marriott card, so it can be used for the hotels in their portfolio from luxury to budget stays.
I also want to note that my friend Zach, who travels the world in first class luxury for nearly free, just put out his new book that teaches people how to do this with credit cards. He is unbelievably smart! He sent me an early copy and it is very easy to read and understand. So, if you are new to the points and miles game and want to learn to travel hack your way into free travel - highly recommend.
